Recover Shopify and WooCommerce abandoned checkouts with delayed WhatsApp utility templates. Cancel the send when the customer places the order.
Most stores already send an abandoned-checkout email. Open rates on that mail are not the same as a message sitting in WhatsApp next to family chats. The constraint is Meta, not copy: the reminder has to be a utility template about a checkout they started, with recorded permission to use that number, not a marketing blast to a cold list.
Guest checkout only works when a phone is on the order. Logged-in-only recovery leaves money on the table in markets where guests pay cash on delivery.
The Shopify and WooCommerce apps subscribe to checkout create and update events. Nautilus Flow schedules a delayed WhatsApp reminder. Placing an order cancels the send so you do not nag someone who already paid. Templates live in your workspace and must be Meta-approved before they fire in production.
Item names or cart count, payable amount, a checkout button, and a way to opt out of promotions. Do not smuggle a sale campaign into a cart reminder. Meta recategorizes that as marketing. If the 24-hour customer service window is already closed, this must be a template. Free-form text will be rejected. See the 24-hour window guide.
The fastest path is Shopify + WhatsApp or WooCommerce + WhatsApp. For India COD confirmations that are not cart recovery, read COD and RTO on WhatsApp.
